Always in our hearts...

We had to say goodbye to our baby girl, Keshia on Jan. 25th.  We were getting all ready for her trip over and were told by the vet that he wouldn't give her clearance to fly to Houston and that she wouldn't make the trip to England.  She had begun to sleep a lot more and had lost interest in treats, which she loved.  In the past 6 months she had lost 1.25 pounds which is a lot when you only weigh 5 to begin with.  Her teeth were in bad condition and she needed to undergo blood work and tests to try and figure out what was going on inside her little body and we decided not to put her through all that.  So, with great sadness we said goodbye to her.

Keshia was our baby before we had babies and will always hold a special place in our hearts and in our family.  Pets give us so much love and joy, I wish we could keep our furry friends forever.  But, sadly it doesn't work that way.  She's now in a peaceful place, playing with her friends Coco & Kegan.  Keshia had a great long life and we were blessed to have her.  I remember my Mom bringing her to the airport when Demi & I moved back to the States - with welcome home & happy birthday balloons wrapped around her.

For the last few months she had been staying with my brother & sister in-law.  They graciously took her into their home with their menagerie of pets to wait out her quarantine.  We'll always be grateful for the care and kindness they gave her.
